About This Tour

The Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) welcomes you to Nature Quest at Borden’s Pond Conservation Area located in Chatham, NY. The theme of this Nature Quest tour is woodland habitat.

Borden’s Pond Conservation Area is located in beautiful Columbia County, which is nestled between the Catskills and Berkshires along the Hudson River north of New York City.

This site includes 1.6 miles of forested trails and a small wetland meadow. The landscape is home to varied wildlife and forests, sloping streamside trails, and Catskill Mountain views. There is not, however, a pond! The dam that created the pond was
breached in 2006, the stream has since returned to its natural course, and part of the site is now a wetland.

During this quest, you'll head north from the parking area up the Streamside Trail through the forest. Take your time and have fun! This audio tour is designed to be enjoyed at your own pace.
